Plane wreck, Iceland

On Saturday, November 24, 1973, a United States Navy aircraft (C-47 Skytrain also recognized as "Dakota") was forced on the black sand beach Sólheimasandur land in the south of Iceland . The crew survived the landing and remains of the aircraft are still standing at the crash site.
The black sand makes the wreck scene look very dramatic as it was made of some apocalyptic zombie film.
If you want to photograph your self from the crash website, you need to have to take a GPS with you and give in these coordinates: 63.459523, -19.364618

For much more data about the crash go to the Aviation Security Database
