The old train cemetery is positioned about 2 km south from the center of Uyuni ( A modest town in southwest Bolivia, near the large salt lake) located , The city of Uyuni used to be a quite crucial center exchange point for freight trains traveling west to the Pacific Ocean umbilical ports. Most trains were employed by the mining company, and were specially tin and tungsten, which contributed more than 70 % of Bolivian exports to the 1940s (during Planet War II Allies depended heavily of tin from Bolivia exported). Later in the 1940s, in Bolivia broke the mining sector many trains had been abandoned in order in their final, isolated, rusting resting place of the Uyuni train cemetery. There were some proposals to open a museum of rusty cemetery, but funding has in no way been obtainable, these days there is still a draw for vacationers and offer wonderful photo possibilities due to the stunning blue sky, white sands and the contrast of the neglected deteriorated autos and Machinery.
