Large Hole, Kimberley, South Africa

"Large Hole" is an old diamond mine, which closed in 1914 - it is now a massive crater filled with water - about 214 feet deep and a circumference a tiny far more than 1.5 kilometers. The city of Kimberley (South Africa) is appropriate at the prime of the Large Hole
In March 1888 the owners of several mines decided to combine & amp amp. combine the mines of this location to a large mine and a fantastic firm that is nonetheless known as De Beers. De Beers is still on the side and tried the Massive Hole register as a UNESCO Planet Heritage Site, De Beers has done some to work on the internet site and now there is an entrance charge, a tiny museum and an observation deck overlooking the large Hole- .
